About SiteConversor

A free, private, browser-based file conversion platform built with one mission: help anyone convert files without giving up their privacy.

Our Mission

SiteConversor was created out of frustration with the status quo of online file converters. Most tools available today require you to upload your files to remote servers — servers you know nothing about, operated by companies whose privacy practices are unclear. Your documents, photos, and personal files are sent to strangers' computers to be processed, stored (sometimes indefinitely), and potentially shared with advertising partners.

We believed there was a better way. Modern web browsers are powerful enough to perform complex file operations entirely on the client side — without involving any server. Using technologies like the HTML5 Canvas API, WebAssembly, PDF.js, and JavaScript-based image processing libraries, we built a converter that does everything right on your device.

The result is SiteConversor: 18 free tools, zero uploads, instant processing, and complete privacy by design.

How It Works — The Technology

SiteConversor relies on a carefully curated set of open-source libraries that run entirely within your browser:

picture_as_pdf

PDF.js (Mozilla)

An open-source library developed by Mozilla that renders PDF files directly in the browser. SiteConversor uses PDF.js to extract each page of a PDF as a high-resolution canvas element, which is then exported as a JPG or PNG image.

heic2any

A JavaScript library that decodes Apple's HEIC image format (used by iPhones and iPads) into standard JPEG or PNG images, entirely within the browser. No server-side decoder required.

description

jsPDF

A client-side PDF generation library. SiteConversor uses jsPDF to convert images (JPG, PNG, WEBP, etc.) into PDF documents that can be downloaded directly from the browser.

qr_code_2

QRCode.js

A lightweight library for generating QR codes in the browser. Our QR Code generator supports text, URLs, and Unicode content, producing high-resolution PNG images suitable for both print and digital use.

HTML5 Canvas API

The backbone of our image conversion, compression, filtering, and editing tools. The Canvas API allows us to read image pixels, apply CSS filters (grayscale, sepia, blur, invert), transform images (rotate, flip, resize), and export the result in any supported format.

Why Privacy Matters for File Converters

Consider what kinds of files people commonly need to convert: scanned medical reports, legal contracts, financial statements, personal photographs, business proposals, identification documents. These are among the most sensitive files a person might possess.

When you upload a file to a server-based converter, you are creating a copy of that file on someone else's infrastructure. Even if the service promises to delete files after processing, there is no way for you to verify that claim. Data breaches, unauthorized employee access, and regulatory requests can all expose files that were supposed to be private.

With SiteConversor, this risk is eliminated by design. The file never leaves your device. The conversion happens in milliseconds on your own processor. The result is delivered directly to your browser's download manager. There is nothing to breach, nothing to subpoena, and nothing to worry about.
